What our warranty support covers
We deal with warranty matters for wall splits, cassettes and portable units supplied through Aircon Warehouse, as well as the installation work completed by our team. In plain terms, there is product cover from the equipment side and workmanship cover for the fitting, commissioning and setup side.
Coverage depends on the unit type, the condition of the site and whether the system has been used and serviced as required. We work with homes, shops, offices, lodges and small industrial sites across Mbombela, White River, Hazyview, Klerksdorp, Potchefstroom and Rustenburg, so we know that dust, humidity and power interruptions can all affect how a system performs.
How workmanship cover works on installed units
If we installed your air-conditioner, the labour and workmanship related to that job are covered for the stated period on your invoice or installation record. That includes the mounting, pipework, cabling, drain lines, vacuuming, gas checks and commissioning carried out at the time of fitment. If there is a problem caused by our installation work, we inspect it and fix what is needed.
Workmanship cover does not include damage caused after handover, misuse, unauthorised changes or faults caused by poor site conditions. For example, if a drain line is later blocked by building dust, or the unit is moved by someone else, that is not the same as a fitting fault. We explain this clearly at handover so there is no confusion later.
- Keep the invoice and handover note in a safe place
- Do not open the unit or change the pipework yourself
- Report a fault as soon as you notice unusual noise, leaks or poor cooling
- Keep the area around the indoor and outdoor units clean and clear
Product warranty terms on supplied air-conditioners
The product warranty sits with the equipment itself and follows the supplier terms that apply to that unit. That can differ between standard wall splits, cassette units and portable units. Some parts are covered for a longer period than others, and some claims need proof of correct installation, commissioning and maintenance.
To help protect your claim, the unit should be used within its rated size, with suitable voltage supply and proper airflow around both units. In the Lowveld and coastal-adjacent humidity areas, regular cleaning matters more than many people realise. Dust build-up on filters and coils can cause freezing, poor cooling and added strain on the compressor.
- Use the unit within the room size and load it was selected for
- Keep filters clean and book scheduled servicing
- Allow for stable power and surge protection where needed
- Do not ignore drip trays, water marks or odd smells
When a claim is not covered
Not every fault is a warranty issue. We always look at the facts first, because some problems are due to maintenance, site conditions or outside damage. If a claim falls outside cover, we still give you the best practical option for repair, parts or replacement.
Common exclusions include accidental damage, theft, storm or lightning damage, insect or rodent damage, lack of servicing, corrosion from harsh conditions and work done by someone else on the same system. In some older properties, especially where power supply and drainage are not ideal, we may find the fault was caused by a building issue rather than the air-conditioner itself.
- Physical damage to casings, fins or pipework after handover
- Water entry from a blocked or poorly set drain line not maintained by us
- Faults caused by illegal wiring or modified electrical connections
- Corrosion and wear from salt air, dust or chemical exposure where maintenance was missed
How to log a warranty claim with us
Start by sending your invoice number, the unit model and a short description of the fault to trade@airconwarehouse.co.za. If the fault is urgent, include your area, for example Mbombela, Klerksdorp or Rustenburg, and tell us whether the unit has stopped working completely or is still running but not cooling properly. A clear photo or short video helps a lot.
Once we have the details, we assess whether the matter is likely to be a warranty claim, a service issue or a job that needs a technician callout. If an inspection is needed, we arrange the next practical step and tell you what to expect. Please do not remove panels, top up gas on your own or ask a third party to open the system before we have seen it.
- Send proof of purchase and a short fault report
- Share photos, video or error codes where available
- Wait for our response before making changes to the unit
- Keep the system switched off if there is burning smell, smoke or water near live parts
Why servicing helps protect your cover
Air-conditioners in the Lowveld and North West work hard through long hot spells, dusty winds and load-shedding related start-stop cycles. Regular servicing helps keep airflow right, coils clean and drain lines clear, which reduces strain on the system and helps prevent arguments about avoidable faults. It also keeps your indoor space more comfortable and can save you from costly downtime.
We offer scheduled servicing, deep cleaning, fault finding and gas top-ups where needed. For businesses in Potchefstroom, White River or Hazyview that run offices, guest rooms or retail spaces, a service plan is often the easiest way to stay ahead of breakdowns. It is simpler to show that a system has been properly maintained when a warranty question comes up.
- Book a service before peak summer use
- Keep records of all maintenance visits
- Report weak cooling early rather than waiting for a full breakdown
- Check that condensate drains and filters are cleaned at normal intervals
Need help with a claim or a site inspection?
If you are unsure whether a fault is covered, contact our team and we will help you work through it. We support customers from our Mbombela base with coverage into the Lowveld and North West, and we handle claims for new installations, replacement units and cassette fitments with the same practical approach. Our goal is to get the issue identified quickly and sorted without run-around.
You can reach Aircon Warehouse at trade@airconwarehouse.co.za. If you already know the unit details, send them through with your location and we will take it from there. If you are not sure what model you have, a clear photo of the indoor and outdoor unit is usually enough to start.
