New Installations

Aircon Warehouse handles new air-conditioner installations for homes, shops and offices in Mbombela, the Lowveld and North West. We fit wall splits, cassettes and portable cooling setups, then commission the system so it is ready for daily use.

What a proper new installation includes

A new install is more than fixing a unit to a wall and plugging it in. We start with a site assessment to check the room size, heat load, ceiling space, drainage, power supply and the best position for airflow. That matters in the Lowveld where summer heat and humidity push units hard, and in North West where dust and long operating hours can affect performance.

Our installation service covers the full process from mounting and piping to pressure testing and start-up. We fit wall split systems for bedrooms, lounges and offices, cassette units for ceilings in open areas, and portable units where a permanent fit is not practical. If the property needs a replacement or an upgrade, we can remove the old unit and install the new one in the same visit where possible.

  • Indoor and outdoor unit mounting
  • Refrigerant piping and insulation
  • Electrical connection to a suitable supply
  • Drain routing and condensate fall checks
  • Vacuuming, leak testing and system commissioning
  • User handover with basic operating guidance

Wall split, cassette and portable fitment options

Wall splits are still the most requested option for houses and smaller offices in Mbombela, White River and Hazyview. They suit single rooms, small open-plan areas and spaces where you want quiet operation and simple control. We normally recommend unit sizes based on the room dimensions, sun exposure and number of people using the space, not just on floor area alone.

Cassette systems are a good fit for shops, reception areas and boardrooms in Klerksdorp, Potchefstroom and Rustenburg. These units are tucked into the ceiling, which helps with even air distribution across a wider area. Portable units are best for temporary offices, rented premises and rooms where drilling or permanent pipe work is not an option. We will still set them up properly, including exhaust routing and positioning for usable airflow.

  • Wall split sizes commonly from 9 000 to 24 000 BTU
  • Cassette units commonly from 18 000 to 48 000 BTU
  • Portable units for single-room spot cooling
  • Single-phase and suitable three-phase applications assessed on site

Step-by-step from site visit to switch-on

We keep the process clear so you know what is happening and when. After your enquiry, our team checks the details and arranges a site visit where needed. Thabo Mokoena and the installations crew look at the mounting surface, cable route, drainage, distance between units and any access issues. For cassettes, ceiling structure and access panels are also checked.

Once the job is confirmed, we schedule the installation and bring the right materials and fittings. The unit is mounted, pipe work is run and insulated, then the system is pressure tested and vacuumed before gas checks and start-up. We test cooling, airflow, drain flow and controls before handover. If a minor adjustment is needed after start-up, we sort it there and then if possible. We do not leave a unit running without proper commissioning, as that often causes trouble later.

  • Enquiry and load discussion
  • Site assessment and quotation
  • Booking and installation day prep
  • Mechanical fitment and electrical connection
  • Testing, commissioning and handover

Turnaround times and how we schedule jobs

Turnaround depends on stock, site readiness and how many units are being fitted. A single wall split in Mbombela can often be done quickly once the site is ready and the required unit is available. Larger jobs, or installations that need extra pipe length, ceiling access or electrical work, need more time. We also plan around municipal and landlord rules where access hours or noise limits apply.

For businesses, we try to work around trading hours where possible. For homes, we can usually arrange morning or afternoon slots depending on travel distance and job size. Coverage extends from Mbombela through White River and Hazyview, and across to Klerksdorp, Potchefstroom and Rustenburg for approved projects. If weather or site conditions are not suitable, we will not rush the fitment. That small delay is beter than a bad install.

  • Single split installs: usually same day once site is ready
  • Multi-room or cassette projects: allow extra time for fitment and testing
  • Portable setups: often completed quickly after delivery and positioning
  • Remote and outlying areas: scheduled by route and job size

Pricing based on the job, not guesswork

Our pricing approach is practical and trade-based. The final cost depends on the unit size, installation type, pipe length, access, bracket or stand requirements, electrical work and whether the site needs removal of an old machine. We quote clearly so you can see what is included before work starts. There are no surprises on standard fittings and labour, and if extra material is needed we discuss it first.

Because aircon fitment can vary from a simple bedroom wall split to a ceiling cassette in a busy office, one fixed price does not suit every site. A neat install saves energy, improves cooling and helps the equipment last longer in dusty or humid conditions. Sipho Mandla Nkosi and the team prefer to quote on the real work required rather than pad the price with vague add-ons.

  • Quotation based on site conditions and unit type
  • Clear material and labour breakdown where needed
  • Options for replacement installs and multi-unit projects
  • Trade pricing for commercial and repeat work

Keeping the new system in good shape

Once the unit is installed, regular maintenance keeps it efficient. In the Lowveld, we normally advise a service every 6 months because of heat, pollen and humidity. In dustier inland areas, 6 to 12 months may be suitable depending on usage. Filters should be checked more often in homes with pets or in offices that run the aircon for long hours.

Scheduled servicing helps with airflow, gas pressure checks, drain cleaning and coil condition. It also picks up early signs of strain before you face a breakdown in peak summer. If the system starts blowing weakly, making noise or tripping, it is worth calling for fault finding rather than waiting for the unit to fail completely. A well fitted machine still needs attention now and then, especially where load-shedding and voltage swings are part of daily life.

What clients say

Questions we get asked

Do you help choose the right air-conditioner size?

Yes. We assess the room size, ceiling height, sun exposure and usage before recommending a suitable unit. That helps avoid under-sized or over-sized systems.

Can you install a replacement unit in the same visit?

Often yes, if the site is ready and the correct unit is in stock. We can remove the old machine and fit the new one, then commission it properly.

How soon should a new installation be serviced?

We usually recommend a service within 6 to 12 months, depending on where it is installed and how often it runs. In the Lowveld, 6 months is a good interval for busy systems.
